Sponsors deserve thanks for Vietnam Wall
- Gresham Outlook - Opinion
I would like to thank Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, the other sponsors and volunteers for bringing the Vietnam Wall to Gresham. I went there on Thursday, Aug. 10, and came back every day. As a disabled Vietnam Vet, I found it very moving and healing.
I was disappointed in The Outlook for just running a picture and a small caption. No mention of the Gresham boys killed in Vietnam, the two Wright brothers, George and Jim (from Boring who went to Gresham High), Bill Sperb (friend and the 1966 Gresham High class president), Don Harden (friend and teammate on the wrestling team), Bob Degen, (friend who moved to Vancouver, Wa. before he graduated) and Roy Curry (whom I didn't know).
These names could have been found in about 10 minutes searching on the computer. Maybe The Outlook will forget, but I never will.
