Republicans distort facts about pornography in our libraries
It never ceases to amaze me how easily Republicans manage to distort the facts or spout disinformation with the hope that 'if you tell a lie often enough, people will eventually believe it's the truth.'
The latest episode in this saga is Kat Finney's claim against Rob Brading, saying he cares not one iota if children are exposed to pornography in our libraries.
Here are the facts: Rob Brading is on the Library Advisory Board. The board has no power to regulate the viewing of pornography in the library.
This power is reserved for the county commissioners alone. Kat, please cast your stones elsewhere. It is also a fact that two of Karen Minnis' staff consultants happen to be part of the group that put out that slanderous brochure.
If you try and tell me that Karen Minnis didn't know about this, well, I would have to give you a Monty Python reaction of 'Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge.'
