Interstate 84 eastbound exit at Troutdale to close tonight

The contractor for the Oregon Department of Transportation's Interstate 84 Troutdale interchange project plans to close the eastbound off-ramp (exit 17) from 10 p.m. Thursday, July 28, until 5:30 a.m. Friday, July 29.

During the ramp closure, eastbound I-84 motorists will be detoured at exit 16 (Northeast 238th Avenue). The signed detour takes motorists south on 238th Avenue to Northeast Halsey Street, then east to 257th Avenue, then north back to exit 17 in Troutdale.

All other ramps at the Troutdale interchange (exit 17) will be open Thursday night during the construction work, which includes moving shoulder barriers and temporary striping. This closure is subject to change due to weather or other factors.

Truck drivers can't use exit 18 as a detour because of height restrictions.

The I-84 Troutdale interchange project will widen the eastbound and westbound off-ramps and add a lane to the north and south frontage roads, among other improvements.
