LAKE OSWEGO - Tigard resident Shirley Clarke Benz and Bridgeport Village Chico's are teaming up to raise money for a good cause and provide a fun afternoon.
The Fall Travelers Trunk Fashion Show will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Oswego Place, a new assisted-living facility located at 17450 S.W. Pilkington Road in Lake Oswego.
Benz, a former model and Nordstrom fashion consultant, as well as an artist, has called on nearly a dozen of her friends who are former models to wear clothes in the show.
She will be the commentator at the show and is working with Nancy Oliver, assistant manager of the Bridgeport Village Chico's, to produce the event.
The show will feature clothes from Chico's Travelers, a line made primarily of easy-care acetate fabric, and include demonstrations on how to mix and match the pieces with other clothing.
In addition to the fashion show, Wendy Liebreich, owner of Portland Luggage and a world traveler herself, will put on a packing workshop called 'Pack Lite, Pack Right.' Her presentation also will include travel safety tips.
Liebreich's packing tips have been featured on local television shows.
Tickets for the event, which includes refreshments, cost $10, and all the proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
For more information or to purchase tickets in advance, call Nancy Raske, assistant administrator at Oswego Place, at 503-697-1025. Tickets also may be purchased at the door.
