BOYS SOCCER - Central shuts out Gresham 2-0

The Centennial boys soccer team rallied to beat Reynolds 2-1 on a soggy Thursday night.

Roberto Farfan scored the game-winner by beating two defenders to find the net in the opening minutes of the second half.

'I like playing when it's wet,' Farfan said. 'It keeps me from getting tired, and the game moves faster. I just keep on running.'

Reynolds sent a couple shots over the cross bar later in the half and put constant pressure in the Eagles' half during the last two minutes, but couldn't score the equalizer.

Christian Becerril scored the Raiders' first goal of the season to give the team a brief lead in the first half.

In other Mount Hood Conference action, Central Catholic beat Gresham 2-0, sealing the victory with an insurance goal with 15 minutes to play.
