Car crashes into Prokops

Shop owner fixes corner of building, needs new front door
by: Clinton Vining, Passersby look on as police investigate the crash scene at 402 S.E. Main St. Friday night.

It was almost midnight Friday night when Carl Prokop received a phone call informing him that someone had just crashed a red Honda Acura into his TV repair shop on the corner of Southeast Main Street and Southeast 4th Avenue.

Clackamas County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Kenneth Donald Brown, 28, of Estacada, on multiple charges after they say he wrecked the car, which belongs to a woman.

He was charged with driving under the influence, driving while suspended, initiating a false police report, hit-and-run, interferring with a peace officer and criminal mischief.

Prokop fixed the corner of the building over the weekend. On Monday, he was still waiting to replace the front door. He wasn't sure of the cost of the damage.
