Freshman Hannah Stalcup to cheer in Jan. 14 Hula Bowl halftime show
by: Clinton Vining, EHS freshman Hannah Stalcup earned the priviledge of performing in the halftime show at the Hula Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii in January as an All-American cheerleader.

Estacada High School freshman Hannah Stalcup was selected to the National Cheer Association's All-American team and will perform in the halftime show at the Hula Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii on Jan. 14.

Stalcup is excited to have an All-American title under her belt. She said she is thankful that her EHS cheer coach, Jessica London takes cheerleading very seriously. It is a sport, and London treats it like one. The Estacada cheerleaders run every day to stay in good physical condition. They also take a gymnastics class once a week to maintain their strength, flexibility and to further their abilities.

The young cheerleader must raise money to cover her expenses in traveling to Hawaii. Her first fundraiser is a Krispy Kreme doughnuts sale. A dozen glazed doughnuts is $7, the same price that they are directly from Krispy Kreme. A certificate for a dozen doughnuts is also available for $7 and can be redeemed at any Krispy Kreme.

Place a doughnut order by calling Stalcup at 503-793-9010 or 503-630-2134. Doughnuts will be ready for pick-up on Monday, Oct. 2

While in Honolulu, Stalcup will practice for the halftime routine with the other All-American cheerleaders from around the nation. She'll be there from Jan. 9 to Jan. 15, and will attend the Hula Bowl Luau with the participating teams of the Hula Bowl. She will also tour the Pearl Harbor Exhibit and the USS Missouri, spend a free day on the island and attend a Hula Bowl dance party after the game.
