Horizon beats Open Door in 70th minute

BOYS SOCCER -- The Huskies fail to convert on 12 corner kicks
by: David Ball, Open Door's Zach Johnson watches his shot sail in front of two Horizon Christian defenders in the first half of Horizon's 1-0 win Thursday.

The Open Door boys soccer team had most of the scoring chances, but it was Horizon Christian that found the net with a late goal to earn the 1-0 victory.

Despite putting pressure on the goal throughout the game, Open Door found itself locked into a scoreless game with 10 minutes to play.

Bobby Cofrancis scored the game-winner for the Hood River school when he curved a shot into the top-right corner from 15 yards out.

'I saw the ball right there for me, and I just went for it,' Cofrancis said. 'I wanted that corner. Scoring that goal was a big relief.'

Open Door failed to muster any quality chances down the stretch.
