An article in the Sept. 1 Portland Tribune contained several pieces of information, presented as fact by sources for the story, that the Tribune has since learned were unverified or were incorrect and the

Tribune regrets their publication.

In particular, the article's assertion that Stuwart Lueb, a Multnomah County Detention Center inmate, is a jailhouse informant for law enforcement authorities is unverified.

No sources were able to verify that they knew firsthand of Lueb giving any information to authorities. There is no official record of the inmate having done so.

Finally, Lueb has never been placed in protective custody.
