Lakeridge battles Oregon City for 35-27 win
The Pacers remain unbeaten, 3-0
The Lakeridge Pacers overcame 120 yards worth of penalties and a reslient Oregon City team to stay unbeaten this year with a 35-27 victory over the Pioneers.
The Pacers jumped out to a 14-0 lead just four and a half minutes into the contest on a pair of touchdown runs by Zach Young but Oregon City fought back, capitalizing on a number of mistakes by the Pacers to cut the lead to 21-20 at the half. Ryan Huntting caught two first-half touchdown passes, including one with 15 seconds to go in the second quarter to help the Pioneers.
Oregon City had plenty of chances to take the lead in the second half but couldn't take advantage of them. Twice in the third quarter the Pioneers had first and goal opportunities but came away without a point. Lakeridge sealed the game in the fourth quarter with its running game. Zach Young had 23 carries for 185 yards and two touchdowns in the game while Lakeridge quarter back Robbie Kool ran for 95 yards and two touchdowns.
