What a difference O'Day makes

BARLOW 27, SANDY 20 - Barlow's Jerell Ramos returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, and the Bruins jumped to a 21-0 lead by the second quarter.

But Sandy rallied to within a single point by halftime when quarterback A.J. Schnell hit Chris Houle with a 10-yard touchdown pass.

Barlow rose the challenge in the second half, shutting out the Pioneers after the break. Bruins' running back Malcolm Johnson scored the game's final touchdown on a 1-yard run with 3:32 left.

REYNOLDS 43, CENTENNIAL 26 - Reynolds running back Chris O'Day scored almost every way possible Friday night to lift the Raiders to the lopsided win. The senior standout gained 318 all-purpose yards and scored five touchdowns.

He scored three times on hand-offs with a long dash of 28 yards. He also found the end zone on a 40-yard pass from quarterback Bo Bergstrom and returning a kick 64 yards to cap his night in the fourth quarter.

Centennial quarterback Kyle Warner completed 9 of 14 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, sparking a brief comeback in the third quarter.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 33, D. DOUGLAS 7 - The Rams set up a first-place showdown against Barlow next week in PGE Park after blowing out the Scots in the league opener.
