Vancouver police arrested attempted kidnapping suspect Salvador Arroyo-Aguilar Saturday night after responding to a call of a prowler in the 3100 block of Northeast 62nd Avenue in Vancouver.
Police had been looking for Arroyo-Aguilar since identifying him as a suspect in an attempted kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl early Tuesday in Vancouver.
The girl had told police she awakened to find a man grabbing her arm and trying to pull her out of her bedroom window. She screamed and the man backed out the window and ran.
Police found a fingerprint and matched that to Arroyo-Aguilar, a 27-year-old transient. He is being held in Clark County Jail on charges of burglary and attempted kidnapping. No bail was set.
The report of a prowler Saturday marks the third such incident in Vancouver over the last month. In August, an adult woman sleeping in a ground floor apartment awoke to find a man reaching through a window and grabbing at her. He ran off after she realized what was happening.
Police officials were not available for comment Sunday.
