Neighborhood House receives United Way honors for service

Neighborhood House was honored with a 2006 Spirit of the Columbia-Willamette Community Partnership Award at the annual United Way Partnership Breakfast on Sept. 14.
The award recognizes demonstrated leadership in delivering innovative programs emphasizing collaboration and measurable results in partnership with the United Way.
Neighborhood House, located in Multnomah Village, is a multi-service, multi-site organization that provides social services for Southwest residents.
Neighborhood House shared the award this year with Outside In, a group that works with homeless and low-income youth.
With more than 60 employees and 450 volunteers, Neighborhood House serves 6,000 people each year, 75 percent of whom are low income, according to the organization.
Some of the programs include transitional housing, rent assistance, skill building classes and the food box program.
