Lake Oswego emptied its bench, playing virtually its entire roster in an impressive 42-6 victory at Milwaukie.
The Lakers took a 35-0 lead at the half and the second string held the Mustangs at bay for the remainder of the contest. Lake Oswego was opportunistic on defense, forcing four turnovers in the first half to build its lead.
Jaron Fagan and Jon Dulong each had an interception and, after being stopped on fourth and goal at the one-yard line, the Lakers recovered a fumble in the end zone on the next play to up the lead to 28-0.
Lake Oswego got the ball back one more time in the second quarter with under 30 seconds to play and, after a 19-yard catch by Dulong, quarterback Duncan White found Anthony Culver open in the end zone for a 44-yard strike on the half's final snap.
Lake Oswego's Will Darkins had two touchdowns and 89 yards rushing while Dulong added 69 yards receiving.
For the Mustangs, quarterback Andrew Lee had 61 yards rushing as did tailback Andre Dickson. Sean Scott scored the team's lone touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Lake Oswego is now 3-2 and plays at Oregon City next week while Milwaukie is 0-4 and plays at Clackamas.
