Huskies hang on in Estacada

ESTACADA - The North Marion Huskies hang on in a nail-biter at Estacada High School's Buzz Randall Field tonight, winning 26-20.

North Marion's sophomore quarterback Kelly Maguire had 231 yards passing, including four touchdowns against the Rangers' defense. Maguire connected twice in the end zone with 6-foot-1 senior wide receiver Chris Bailey.

Estacada's junior quarterback and defensive back Jake Day picked Maguire's sole interception in the first quarter and returned it 22 yards for a TD.

Senior full back Greg Locke rushed for 60 yards for the Rangers, including a 23-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Sophomore half back Jake Hyde gave the Rangers hope with a 90-yard kick off return to bring Estacada within six mid-way through the final quarter.

The win was North Marion's first in the 4A Capital Conference. Estacada is still looking for a league victory.
