Gresham resident Hal Morrow will celebrate his 90th birthday from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 14, at Cherry Park Presbyterian Church, 348 Cherry Park Road, Troutdale.
Hal was born Oct. 16, 1916, in Macomb, Ill., to Alonzo and Ethel Morrow. He was raised and educated in Illinois.
He married Nellie Blodgett on Aug. 6, 1937, in Canton, Mo. The couple moved to East County in 1942.
Hal opened and operated a construction firm from 1960 to 1975. He served on the Rockwood School Board from 1950 to 1967.
Hal then worked in the maintenance department of Reynolds School District.
He has three daughters, Ginger Bradbury of Damascus, Claudia Brooks of Happy Valley and Kristi Forsberg of Stevensville, Mont.
His wife, Nellie, died in April 1977.
He married Marilyn Wolfe on June 2, 1979, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Portland.
Hal was a Boy Scout leader in the Thunderbird District.
He enjoys gardening and reading. He credits his long life to the ability to take each day as it comes.
