Ditching red-light cameras is proper move for St. Helens
This is a proper move for St. Helens.
If the city feels it has a genuine safety issue with too many red light violations, simply lengthening the yellow intervals almost always reduces the violations by more than ticket cameras.
And, obviously, drivers who stop for red lights present zero risk to cause accidents in the intersections. Correct length yellows create more safety than ticket cameras, and the science of this is on our website at www.motorists.org.
