Gophers settle for 1-1 tie with Centennial

Gresham and Centennial battled to a 1-1 deadlock in girls soccer action Thursday night.

The Eagles evened the scored on a breakaway goal by LaChante Horton with 9:05 to play. Gresham had several chances to regain the lead in the final minutes, but Centennial goalie Kelsey Bishop make a couple key saves to maintain the tie. Gresham's Ali Mosher had the game's final chance with a desperation shot from 35 yards out that appeared to be on target only to sail inches over the cross bar.

The Gophers' broke up a scoreless game in the 57th minute when sophomore Nellie Hirschmugl made a run down the right side and put a low shot inside the far post.

In other Mount Hood action, Barlow had five different players find the net in a 6-1 win against David Douglas, while Reynolds and Sandy battled to a scoreless tie.
