Oregon at WSU

When, where: 2 p.m. Saturday, Martin Stadium

Radio: KXL (750 AM)

nReceiver coach Robin Pflugrad, the former Portland State football player and coach, returns to the site of his most recent coaching stint. He served as assistant head coach, tight end coach and recruiting coordinator at WSU from 2001 until the Ducks hired him away this year.

'The hardest thing about leaving Washington State was coach (Bill) Doba,' Pflugrad says of the Cougars' head coach. 'He runs a terrific program. I'll always have some Cougar in me, but not much on Saturday.'

nCoach Mike Bellotti wants the Ducks to go downfield more in the passing game, possibly with burner Jordan Kent, 'who's running by people a lot.' … Many Pac-10 quarterbacks have been injured this year, and Bellotti says Dennis Dixon's running puts him at risk. But 'more injuries occur in the pocket than outside the pocket,' Bellotti says. … Line of scrimmage and receiver blocking remains paramount for the run game, which netted 256 yards against UCLA, Bellotti says. … Saturday's game will be the first UO game not televised this season. … It'll be Oregon's sixth visit to Pullman in seven years, a result of unbalanced scheduling that had been part of the Pac-10 for years. But alternating home games with all teams will proceed with all Pac-10 teams now playing one another. … Bellotti, on whether any of his freshman quarterbacks (see: Westview grad Cody Kempt) could switch positions: 'That decision wouldn't be made for another year.' The Ducks are recruiting prep QB Kellen Kiilsgaard of Auburn, Wash.
