The Northwest Women's Show, the motherload expo of women's services and activities, takes place this weekend, with advice and demonstrations on cooking, shopping, makeup, fashion, mothering, scrapbooking, numerology and more.
There's even a fiery fashion show with the hunky heroes of Portland Fire and Rescue.
Elise F. Burke, who works with the Northwest Women's Show, says, 'There are over 250 exhibitor booths to shop from, and scrapbooking and health seminars and cooking demonstrations.
Attendees have the chance to win prizes … everything from free airline tickets to spa services.'
Eighteen-thousand women are expected to attend over the weekend, which includes events like the Chocolate, Wine and Martini Tasting, Arthur Murray's 'You Can Dance Portland' contest and Comcast's 'Fight Like a Girl,' demonstrating self-defense techniques for women.
Celebs lined up include Guy Fieri, winner of 'The Next Food Network Star' and host of Food Network's 'Guy's Big Bite'; actor Brody Hutzler, of 'Days of Our Lives'; Paula Begoun, 'The Cosmetics Cop,' author of 'Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me'; Caprial Pence, owner of Caprial's Bistro and co-star of 'Caprial and John's Kitchen.'
'Whether it's through health seminars, fashion shows and makeup lessons, food demos, book authors and scrapbooking,' Burke says, 'we want women to walk away not only with a goodie bag full of stuff to try out at home but for them to have learned something that will inspire and improve their lives.'
