Nov 4 - Verboort Sausage Festival
The King City Travel Club is now taking reservations for the very popular Washington County 72nd annual Verboort Sausage Festival.
The sausage and sauerkraut meal is made by parishioners of the church right on the church property. Included is a 7 ingredient green salad, rolls, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans, and a piece of apple or lemon pie.
In 1999, 13 tons of sausage and 350 gallons of sauerkraut were served to over 8,000 diners.
Visitors can enjoy a stroll around the beautiful grounds and visit the hall with homemade candy, fancywork booth, quilts, home baked goods, and other items for sale.
The cost for this trip sponsored by the King City Travel Club is $30.
Call Beverly Kirk (escort) at 503-598-94l4 or Lila Harmon at 503-620-4644 to make a reservation. The bus will leave King City at 12:30 p.m. and return at approximately 5:00 p.m.
