Truck crashes into Fairview home

No one is injured when driver loses control in Fairview Lake neighborhood

FAIRVIEW - Amazingly, no one was injured when a 20-year-old man drove his Ford F-150 truck through the side of a house Wednesday evening in the Fairview Lake neighborhood.

The accident occurred at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25, in the 3500 block of Northeast 217th Court, Officer Pooja Singh said.

The driver of the truck, Cody Cutshall, was driving a friend around so he could show off his new stereo system, Singh said.

Cutshall reportedly lost control when he hit a speed hump and tried to put on his brakes to keep his truck from careening into the house, but may have accidentally hit the gas, Singh said.

The homeowners, a 44-year-old woman and her 42-year-old husband, were both home at the time.

She was reportedly preparing dinner in the kitchen when she heard a 'horrific noise,' and the lights and gas went out, Singh said, adding that when she walked around the corner, the homeowner saw the truck in the middle of her living room.

'They were really upset,' Singh said of the homeowners. 'It was a real shock for them.

Cutshall reportedly admitted that he had been speeding, and told officers he was traveling 30 to 40 mph as he drove through the Fairview Lake neighborhood, Singh said.

The speed limit in the area is 25 mph.

Police do not believe that drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

Loop Highway Towing helped to remove the truck from the scene. The side of the house is now boarded up with sheets of plywood.
