Late pass gives Gresham a 14-10 victory
Daniel Gilbertson hauls in a 43-yard pass for the winning points
Facing a must-win game Friday night, Gresham's football team came through in the final minutes to knock off Reynolds 14-10.
Nursing a 10-7 lead, Reynolds tried to run out the clock by converting a fake punt on fourth down near midfield. The attempt came up a foot short of the marker, setting up Gresham for its final drive. The Gophers didn't waste much time scoring the winning points when quarterback Mickey Inns hit Daniel Gilbertson in stride for a 43-yard touchdown with 1:51 to play.
'It was a perfect pass from a perfect sophomore,' Gilbertson said.
Reynolds took over at its own 25-yard line, but moved backward with no chance for a game-winning drive in the closing minute.
Raiders' running back Chris O'Day finished with 149 yards on 28 carries.
