Interceptions spark Barlow's win over Centennial

BARLOW 41, CENTENNIAL 23 - Barlow defensive back Tyler Mandeville pulled down two interceptions to set up scoring drives in the third quarter, as the Bruins pulled away in the second half. Barlow built a 27-10 lead late in the third quarter when Corey Smoot got behind the defense for a 51-yard touchdown pass from Alex Hymel.

With the win, Barlow locks up the No. 3 playoff spot out of the Mount Hood Conference. However, the state's leading rusher Malcolm Johnson sprained his knee on the final play before halftime and spent the second half on the bench.

C. CATHOLIC 42, SANDY 14 - The Rams locked up first place in the Mount Hood Conference with the win, led by Jaden Kaufman with four touchdowns and 178 yards rushing. Central can complete a perfect run through the league with a win against Centennial at PGE Park next week.

The Rams built a 35-0 lead by the end of the third quarter before Sandy scored a pair of late touchdowns.

D. DOUGLAS 41, HOOD RIVER 27 - The Scots wrapped up the No. 2 seed going into the playoffs. Further results were not reported.

CORBETT 47, CHEMAWA 0 - Corbett scored on its first seven possessions and took a 41-0 lead into halftime. Kevin Greenslade broke loose for a pair of early touchdown runs to set the tone in the nonleague win.
