Churchon Chasenkaton, 47, a resident of Boring, died Friday, Oct. 20, in an automobile accident.
A funeral will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4, and from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Nov. 5, at Gresham Memorial Chapel, 257 S.E. Roberts Ave.
Interment will follow Sunday, at Skyline Memorial Gardens, 4101 N.W. Skyline Blvd., Portland.
Churchon was born July 8, 1959, in Laos to Chaseng and Mee Vue Xiong. He was raised and educated in Laos, but got his general education diploma in Fresno, Calif., after he immigrated to the United States in 1980.
In January 1978, Churchon married True in Laos.
Churchon worked as a custodian at Ogden Middle School in the Oregon City School District, owned and operated Churchon Janitorial Services, sold strawberries and flowers from his farm on Orient Drive and was a pastor at Trinity Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of Boring; sons, Lao Pao Xiong and Lee Xiong, both of Vancouver, Wash., and Leng Xiong of Boring; daughters, Landa Xiong, Marrilla Xiong, Christy Xiong, Pa Chia Xiong, Kalusha Churchon and Louajee Churchon, all of Boring; parents; brothers, Siyi Xiong, Teng Xiong, Ntxheb Xiong and Txos Xiong; four sisters; and 10 grandchildren.
Gresham Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
Oct. 11, 1909-Oct. 30, 2006
Former Sandy resident Tressa Edwards, 97, died Monday, Oct. 30, at Mountain View Foster Care Home in Boring. At her request, no formal services will be held.
Tressa was born Oct. 11, 1909, in Peoria, Ill., to John and Mary (Batz) Sladky. When she was a year old, she moved with her family to Oregon.
On July 15, 1925, Tressa married Lennis Edwards. She was a homemaker.
Tressa lived in Sandy for 63 years. She moved to Boring four years ago.
She enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.
In April 1992, Tressa was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include her daughter, Nonie French of Boring; and 10 nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Sandy Fire Department. Sandy Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Elizabeth Joyce Jones

Gresham resident Elizabeth Joyce Jones, 81, died of cancer Wednesday, Oct. 18, at her home. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
Elizabeth was born Jan. 19, 1925, in River Falls, Wis., to Hans E. 'Pep' and Sarah E. Hanson. Joyce graduated from Stillwater High School in 1944. She then graduated from Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 1947.
Elizabeth was an accomplished artist and enjoyed doing portraits, woodcarving and basket weaving.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include her son, Cris Jones of Roscommon, Mich.; daughters, Gail Seib of Owosso, Mich., Barbara Fitzsimmons of Portland and Carrie Carman of Gresham; sisters, LaVerne Delorit of River Falls, Ila Pykonen of Minnetonka, Minn., and Bonnie Polinsky of Cambria, Calif.; brother, Bob Hanson of Lake Jackson, Texas; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
