Lady Rangers beat Molalla, play third-place Cascade Cougs

Once Estacada's girls' varsity soccer team could shake the jitters with an Emily Lewis goal on Saturday, Molalla was history in the Capital Conference playoff game.

Lewis scored first off a direct free kick and then centered the corner kick for Leah Lamb to score. Both goals came in the first half of the afternoon game.

'We had a lot opportunities in the second half, but we couldn't capitalize,' said EHS coach Rick Mudrow.

The win gave Estacada a shot at claiming the league's third and final state playoff spot with a game at third-place Cascade on Tuesday. Results were not available for the print edition of Estacada News. Please check www.estacadanews.com.

The Lady Rangers tied Cascade's Cougars earlier this season and beat them 1-0 last Monday.

Estacada was 5-6-2 against league opponents and 5-8-2 overall before Tuesday's match.
