Hall joins staff of the Review
'You know you are off to a good start when Chuck Shaw-Ryan from Chuck's Place gives you a hearty welcome and a free cookie on your first real day on the job,' said Lori Hall, the newest member of the Lake Oswego Review family.
After working as a freelance writer and editor for the last nine years, Hall says she is excited to reenter the newspaper world and connecting with the public.
'I already feel the warmth and the culture of the community,' she said.
Hailing from Minnesota, Hall moved to Oregon nine years ago with her husband and two children.
Back in Minnesota, she was a reporter and then an assistant managing editor at a weekly newspaper for six years.
'I loved the action, the variety and the people,' Hall said.
'We are absolutely delighted to have a person with Lori's credentials join our staff,' Review Editor Martin Forbes said. 'Right off the bat people in the community will be impressed with her professionalism and work ethic.'
Hall currently lives in Clackamas with her family and their spirited lab/border collie.
Hall is highly active in her community, as well. She has served on the Clackamas Parks and Recreation Board, on her children's school PTO, as well as volunteering on several school district committees.
In her free time, Hall enjoys exploring the outdoors and camping with her family. She also completed her third marathon this spring.
With two staffers out on family leave, several interns helping out and numerous vacations looming, Hall will cover a variety of items in the next month before settling into specific news beat this fall, Forbes said.
