Say adieu to Marsee Bakery building

Two downtown buildings were demolished Tuesday to make way for the new Pollock Commercial Building at the intersection of A Avenue and Fourth Street.

The Marsee Bakery building and the Lake Oswego One Hour Cleaners were both demolished. Traffic and parking restrictions in the vicinity of the project are expected in coming months.

Ultimately, the site will house a three-story building with two parking levels underneath. Buena Vista Homes, owned by local developer Roger Pollock, will occupy a portion of the office space. Street-level retail shops will occupy the first floor.

Locals should expect to see areas of Fourth Street closed during construction, expected to take about 18 months, and parking restrictions on A Avenue and Fourth Street.

The sidewalk along A Avenue will be re-routed using the parking strip on the south side of A Avenue during this time.

The entrance to the alleyway between Fourth and Fifth streets will also be closed.
