Police investigating shooting, stabbing
Both incidents in Northwest Portland
Portland police are investigating two violent Sunday morning incidents in Northwest Portland.
At 2:42 a.m., officers responded to the report of a disturbance with shots fired at Northwest 4th and Davis. Moments later, additional shots were fired at Northwest 5th and Everett. Arriving officers located a gunshot victim at Northwest 3rd and Davis.
The victim, Robert Rileya, 23, suffered non-life threatening gunshot wounds to his right leg and was transported to an area hospital. He is in serious condition.
Police believe Rileva was shot at Northwest 4th and Davis and then ran to 3rd and Davis, where he was found.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and black pants, last seen running westbound on Northwest Davis from 4th. Gang Enforcement Team Detectives are investigating the shooting as gang-related.
Then, at 6:03 a.m., officers responded to the report of a stabbing at an apartment building located at 2151 N.W. Johnson. When officers and medical personnel arrived, they found the victim inside the building suffering from stab wounds.
The victim, Mark Edward Olson, 40, was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
Criminalists from the Forensic Evidence Division are investigating the incident. No suspect information was released.
