Scappoose Soccer Practices slated

Conditioning begins this week, Monday

Girls slate soccer fitness camp

The Scappoose High girls soccer team will participate in fitness training from 7-9 a.m., Aug. 15-19 at the high school track. Girls are advised to bring water and running shoes.

Official practices begin Monday, Aug. 22. Morning sessions will be from 8-10 a.m. at the Scappoose Middle School. Afternoon sessions will be from 4-6 p.m. at the high school. Players should bring all their soccer gear.

Boys set conditioning, tryouts

Tribe boys' soccer conditioning, tryouts and practices have been set for the next three weeks.

Conditioning begins this week, Monday through Friday, Aug. 8-12 on the Scappoose High baseball field. Athletes should bring running shoes, cleats, and guards.

Tryouts are slated for Aug. 15-19 at 10 a.m., and 6-8 p.m. The morning session is a 'fun run' according to coach Bob Deuker.

Official practices start Monday, Aug. 22, again at 10 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. Once school begins, Sept. 12, practices will be from 4- 6 p.m. at the Scappoose Middle School.

Deuker said players trying out should have a physical, athletic clearance and shin guards. Players are advised to try to make four out of five tryouts and practices.
