Patterson one of two finalists for Corvallis city manager slot
Sherwood City Manager Jim Patterson is one of two finalists vying to become the next city manager of Corvallis.
The Corvallis Gazette-Times reported Monday that Patterson and Terrie Battuello, of Bothell, Wash., made the short list of contenders hoping to run the city of 56,000.
Contacted Tuesday, Patterson said he spent time in Corvallis on Thursday, meeting with business leaders and city department heads in a process he called 'pretty intense.'
On Aug. 16, he and Battuello will meet with the Corvallis City Council for a final interview that is expected to last 1½ hours.
'I'm honored that the city of Corvallis has asked me back (for a final interview),' he said.
He could be notified as early as Aug. 17 whether he is Corvallis' next city manager.
If selected, Patterson's contract requires that he give the Sherwood City Council 60 days notice of his departure.
City manager of Sherwood for the last three years, Patterson is one of five city manager finalists and the only candidate from Oregon.
