Let us hear from you over holidays

As we look to the holidays and beyond, it's time for the Lake Oswego Review to offer a pair of invitations to our readers.

One of them is sharing the holiday season through cards while the other is taking part in our annual Perspective magazine.

On Dec. 21, we again will be running holiday cards from Lake Oswego residents. If you would like to participate, all you have to do is mail or e-mail your family holiday card along with a one-line holiday message and the names of the people pictured to accompany the photo.

Be sure to include your phone number and address in case we need to get back to you. Neither of those will run in the paper.

E-mail photos to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., drop them off at our office at 400 Second St., or send them to the Lake Oswego Review, P.O. Box 548, Lake Oswego, Ore., 97034.

Be sure to label items as holiday cards.

Deadline for submission is Friday, Dec. 15, at 5 p.m. although we would appreciate hearing earlier from participating residents.

Additionally, we are inviting local residents to help us in putting together our annual magazine that comes out next March. Perspective will offer features from our reporting staff, student writers and freelancers, all built around the theme of 'Beating the Odds.'

If you would like to write a short piece on someone locally that you feel has beaten the odds, then we would love to hear from you. It could be someone overcoming a physical challenge, a medical problem, a financial setback, a catastrophic event or perhaps a business overcoming obstacles to survive.

Write approximately 350 words or less about your chosen person and send the submission to any of our above addresses. Please label this piece as 'Beating the Odds.'

Make sure you provide contact information about yourself in case we have any questions. And feel free to include a photograph of the person you are writing about.

Thanks in advance for participating and happy holidays from the Lake Oswego Review to you.

Cheers,

Martin Forbes, Review Editor
