A meeting to discuss organizing a neighborhood association in the newly annexed Pleasant Valley area is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at Butler Elementary School, 2789 S.W. Butler Road.
Aside from discussing the formation of a neighborhood association for this 541-acre land parcel, city administrators will provide an update on Gresham's master planning process and status of infrastructure financing in Pleasant Valley
Last May, city councilors voted unanimously to approve the annexation of about one-half of the Gresham Pleasant Valley plan area. After the estimated cost for infrastructure was tallied, city administrators discovered a $16.3 million gap in project financing.
Completing the first phase of infrastructure is now estimated at $33.5 million.
Area residents have expressed concerns that the city would require property owners to shoulder a significant portion of those costs.
