Water main break closes part of Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway
Customers still have water, but it could take hours to repair damaged pipe
Portland Water Bureau crews are responding to a 6-inch water main break that has closed a section of the Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway.
The busy highway is closed between Southwest 30th and 45th avenues.
Portland city employees are setting up traffic control to allow one lane of traffic each way. Police are assisting in diverting traffic.
Crews estimate it will take six hours to repair the break. They have shut off water flowing through the main, but all customers in the area have water.
