City launches new Web site
Gresham is launching an interactive Web-based tool designed to help citizens access information and make service requests 24 hours a day.
An open house to showcase 'askGresham' will run from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, in the Gresham City Hall conference center, 1333 N.W. Eastman Parkway. A demonstration is at 6 p.m.
The askGresham Web site, www.askgresham.com, supplements the city's less-user-friendly site, www.ci.gresham.or.us. It is designed to simplify requests for information and provide fast responses to various city-related questions. Users can access information by using a key-word search tied to a knowledge base. If an answer can't be found in the database, the question is forwarded to a city staff member for an answer.
The system also allows users to report code violations, file some crime reports and request city services. People can also monitor the status of their questions and requests through a feature called My Gresham.
