Aschoff inducted into Portland State Hall of Fame

Sandy girls basketball coach honored at October banquet
by: Michael Cade, Sandy girls basketball coach Renae Aschoff has joined elite company in Portland State University's Hall of Fame.

The Portland State University athletic Hall of Fame is a pretty impressive group.

The list of members include such familiar names as Neil Lomax, Mouse Davis, June Jones, Tom Trebelhorn and Clint Didier.

On October 20, 2006, the Hall added some more impressive names.

Among them was Sandy girls basketball coach Renae Aschoff.

Aschoff, a Viking from 1990 to 1993, was a star forward on Greg Bruce's teams of the early 1990s.

Portland State went 88-29 during Aschoff's time at the school and took third place in the NCAA Division II tournament in 1992.

Aschoff ranks in PSU's all-time top 10 in the following categories: scoring, games played, games started, blocked shots, field goal attempts, field goals made, rebounds and field goal percentage.

Additionally, she is the school's all-time leader in free throw percentage with a mark of .844. She led the nation in 1992 with a free throw percentage of.882.
