A pair of seniors led the way on Thursday as Forest Grove posted a 95-76 win over Aloha in the 2006-07 season's first swim meet at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center.
Zack Thompson and Steve Allnut accounted for four of the Vikings' six individual victories against Aloha. Thompson won the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events, while Allnut posted victories in the 200 and 500 free. Steven Rawson and Nate Alton had Forest Grove's other individual wins, while the Viks also took first in all three relay events.
On the girls' side, Forest Grove rode individual victories from Madeline Allnut and Molly Clark and a win in the 200 free relay to a narrow 86-82 win over the visiting Warriors.
Allnut's time of 2:11.15 was good for first place in the 200 free, while Clark won the 100 free in 1:08.17. Elisse Hanson added a pair of second-place finishes in the 200 individual medley (2:36.38) and 100 backstroke (1:15.30).
Forest Grove fell behind 8-6 after the 200 medley relay but seized a 17-12 lead after the next event, the 200 free. The Lady Viks led the rest of the way.
The boys, meanwhile, clung to a one-point lead after the 200 individual medley, but pulled away behind a 1-2 finish from Thompson and Nick Wallace in the 50 free and another 1-2 sweep by Thompson and Alton in the 100 free.
The Vikings will travel to Dallas on Saturday for an invitational meet, followed by a home meet against Hillsboro next Tuesday.
