Monopolizing Estacada

Community Center raises funds with silent auction for unopened game
by: Barbara Adams, This un-opened “Game of Estacada,” which was produced approximately 10 years ago by local sponsors, including the Estacada Lions Club, is being auctioned off at the Estacada Community Center to benefit it’s home delivered meal program. Silent bids may be dropped by or called in by Dec. 15, 503-630-7454.

The 'Game of Estacada' used to be available at local stores-that was a good 10 years ago. Since then, it has become a thing of legend . . . 'Hey, remember that Monopoly style game of Estacada? I wish I had one.'

Now's your chance. The Estacada Community Center has one pristine, unopened version of the game and it's available to the highest bidder. A silent auction is happening now, and will close Dec. 15. Proceeds will benefit the home delivered meal program, which serves hot meals to local homebound folks. The program's federal and state funding has been cut in recent years to approximately one-fourth of what it used to receive. As a result, the Community Center regularly holds fund-raisers and seeks donations to continue providing services.

Bids may be called in at 503-630-7454, or dropped by the Estacada Community Center, 200 Southwest Clubhouse Drive. The minimum bid is $25.
