The Lady Rangers stumbled against Junction City after an exciting overtime victory against Central High School.

Estacada High School's girls' basketball team beat Central 49-47 on Thursday at home.

Seniors Melita Elliot and Sarah Rask led the Lady Rangers with 14 and 13 points respectively. Each girl made five free throws.

'The game could have gone either way,' said EHS coach Mike Morris. 'We just happened to hit the last shot.'

The ladies started very slow in the first quarter, scoring only two points, but battled back and held a three-point lead at halftime, 16-13. In the third, the teams were even with 11 points each, but the fourth belonged to Junction City. The Tigers pulled ahead to win 41-35.

EHS plays at Elmira on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
