A Happy Valley youngster, Brooke Orrick-Arno, has been selected through nationwide Internet voting to sing the famous Oscar Mayer jingle in the company's new television advertising campaign.

Brooke, age 6, was named as one of 20 finalists last month, out of a field of more than 18,000 entrants from across the country. Brooke's twin sister, Beth, also entered the contest.

'We were seeing the commercials for the contest all summer long. Every time it aired, the girls said, 'We want to enter the contest!'' explained their mother, Carolyn Arno.

She added: 'This is one of those things where you might go, 'Why even bother?' but this just shows - if you don't try, you're not going to get it. You never know - something just might happen.'

The company will fly the family to a theme park next year to film a series of television commercials featuring Brooke and the five other winners. The family will also receive $5,000 in spending money - and that's no B-O-L-O-G-N-A.
