Hey, News-Times readers, we like to get letters from you, but there are a few rules you need to know.
Because our goal is to run every letter we receive from a local person , or about a local topic, they need to be no longer than 300 words.
Letters longer than 300 words (usually about one typewritten page double-spaced) may be edited or returned to the writer to be shortened. If there's no way you can squeeze your message into 300 words, give yourself up to 800 words, and we'll consider it for a guest column. We will not publish anonymous letters, and we need addresses to tell where the letters are coming from. This means where you live, not a work address. We don't publish the addresses, but you need to include one.
