Arthritis and other rheumatologic diseases impair the lives of many people, leading to painful and swollen joints, chronic back, neck or muscle pain, and numerous other debilitating conditions.
In response, Tuality Healthcare has opened western Washington County 's first rheumatology physicians practice to assist local residents with these prevalent, yet often treatable diseases.
Physician specialists Sarah Cassell, M.D., and Dennis Liu, M.D., offer comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for people with rheumatic and immune-system diseases. These include most forms of arthritis, lupus, vasculitis, gout, tendonitis, bursitis, osteoporosis, and many others.
"All of us know someone who suffers from chronic aches and pains," said Liu, who began seeing patients in October. "We live in a rapidly aging community, which means that these types of afflictions will only become more common. Dr. Cassell and I are looking forward to helping more local people improve their quality of life."
"We are delighted to have two immensely qualified physician specialists bring their skills to our community," said John Coletti, M.D., vice president of healthcare development, Tuality Healthcare. "They will serve as a valuable resource, not just for patients, but also for local primary-care doctors who can call on them for consultation or patient referral."
The new rheumatology practice is located at 364 SE 8th Ave., Suite 301, Hillsboro, in conjunction with Hillsboro Internal Medicine. Both physicians participate in most major insurance plans, and are available for appointments by calling 503-681-4233.
