Next: Portland (18-21-4-4) travels to play Kelowna on Friday and Seattle on Saturday, and faces Vancouver at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Rose Garden.
Trib player of week: Who else? It's Cody McLeod, again. He has a seven-game goal streak, notching 10 goals and four assists in that span. He had a hat trick at Moose Jaw. Part of his success is due to the improved play of center Brandon Dubinsky. They teamed with Dan Da Silva on the Eastern Division swing.
'The way Cody plays, he's going to get chances,' coach Mike Williamson says. 'He's willing to go to tough areas of the ice, like the front of the net, and battle for position. He's being rewarded now.'
This and that: Da Silva leads with 20 goals, 26 assists (46 points), with Dubinsky (39) and McLeod (37) right behind. É Goalies Dustin Butler (hamstring) and Blake Grenier (ankle) should be healthy for the weekend; fill-in 15-year-old Kurtis Mucha started at Moose Jaw and Kootenay. É Of forward Colton Sceviour, who played at Kootenay, Williamson says: 'He looked quite good. Once his season's done, he might join us. We're really happy with him, a skilled kid who plays hard.'
