CORVALLIS - Corvallis Knights catcher/outfielder Ryan Gorton of Oregon State was named the West Coast League co-Player of the Week for the week of July 25-31.

The Tigard High School graduate was 11-for-24 (.458) at the plate in six games, with 11 RBI as the Knights went 5-1 during the week.

Gorton had nine RBI in a four-game sweep of Klamath Falls, and raised his season average to .325, with 16 RBI.

Gorton shared the Player of the Week award with Cowlitz pitcher Kevin Bosson, who threw a complete-game 5-hit shutout in a 9-0 victory over Bellingham on July 29.
