The situation: Portland is 28-22-5-1 and in first place in the WHL U.S. Division entering its six-game road trip, starting Friday in Everett. The Winter Hawks play on the road against Spokane on Saturday, Vancouver on Tuesday, Kelowna on Wednesday, Everett on Feb. 20 and Seattle Feb. 21.

Hot goalie: Krister Toews allowed seven goals in his recent five-game winning streak, which ended in Wednesday's 2-2 tie against Brandon.

The lines: The Winter Hawks have settled on their lines, going with Brandon Dubinsky-Dan Da Silva-Robin Big Snake, Alex Aldred-Darrell May-Cody McLeod, and Ivan Dornic-Brian Woolger-Brad Priestlay, while mixing in Shane Halifax, Garrett Festerling, Kyle Bailey and Frazer McLaren.
