'We are pleased that CNN/Money Magazine recognizes something that we know first-hand - West Linn is a wonderful place to live,' City Manager Chris Jordan said after hearing the news.
'The inclusion on this list is an honor, and provides recognition of the amenities and activities we enjoy in West Linn,' he added. 'Also notable was the fact that the ranking description included the fact that West Linn residents enjoy low taxes to accompany the high quality of life. West Linn prides itself on being an affordable, family-friendly community.'

Many residents commute to Portland on weekdays but enjoy waterfront recreation on their weekends, as West Linn sits between two rivers, the magazine notes.
The description also mentions the city's summer concerns at Tanner Creek Park and the 'revitalized downtown area' in historic Willamette, where the seasonal farmers market and annual street dance take place, as benefits of living in West Linn.
The rankings considered housing, quality of life and financial factors. West Linn also made the list in 2009.
