Coming home: The Winter Hawks, 28-24-6-2 and losers of three games in a row entering games tonight at Everett and Saturday at Seattle, will return home Sunday to play Vancouver at 5 p.m. in the Rose Garden. The rest of the home games Ñ six Ñ also will be in the Rose Garden, where Portland is 10-3-1-1.

Oops: Quite a melee broke out after the Portland-Kelowna game (2-1 Kelowna overtime win), where Rocket fans scuffled with security while verbally confronting Hawks coach Mike Williamson and some players. Radio announcer Dean Vrooman described it as 'ugly.' The fans apparently were upset about Robin Big Snake's hit on Shea Weber; Weber lay on the ice for 20 minutes before being carried off. Big Snake got a five-minute boarding penalty.

The tally: Acquired to bring toughness, Big Snake hasn't disappointed. He has twice been suspended for physical play and has 221 penalty minutes. Cody McLeod also is closing in on 200, with 187.
