Up next: Portland (32-26-6-2) clinched a WHL playoff berth with Tuesday's 3-0 win over Kamloops. The Hawks play Tri-City at 7 tonight in the Rose Garden, at Vancouver at 7 p.m. Saturday and Spokane at 5 p.m. Sunday in the Rose Garden.
Regehr OK: Defenseman Richie Regehr has had concussion symptoms lately Ñ dizziness, headaches Ñ but the Hawks do not think his season is over. 'He'll be back. We just won't rush him,' coach Mike Williamson says.
Everett hex: Portland feels confident against Tri-City or Spokane in the playoffs. Everett, with its disciplined system, would be another thing. Williamson figures the Hawks have executed their game plan only twice against the expansion SilverTips all season, including an opening 5-2 win Sept. 20.
'Early in the season we had guys take Everett for granted,' Williamson says. 'We kind of rolled them in the first game. We got over that, but then we got overemotional. And they take advantage of mistakes. They're very opportunistic. We're so emotional against them, but we don't play sound.'
