Stray bullet hits SE apartment after collision

A stray bullet hit a Southeast Portland apartment early Wednesday morning when someone fired several gunshots after a hit-and-run accident.

No one was injured in the shooting. Portland police are investigating but they don't believe the incident was related to gang activity. No arrests have been made.

Police said the shooting happened at about 2:33 a.m. near Southeast 92nd Avenue and Flavel Street. Witnesses said several gunshots were fired after a disturbance in the street.

A man living in a nearby building discovered a bullet hole in his apartment, probably caused by a stray shot.

Police said the shots were related to a hit-and-run accident in the 9000 block of Southeast Flavel Street. A white Dodge Intrepid, which apparently was involved in the accident, was towed away.
