St. Helens will hold a public forum Wednesday evening, Aug. 17, to receive citizen input concerning the proposed 'Splash It Up' water park. The meeting will begin at 6:45 p.m. and will allow citizens to provide city officials with feedback on the planned water park.

In June, the city gave a tentative go-ahead to the privately funded project, which calls for a water pad and five spigots to be located at Columbia View Park.

Some community members, city officials and department heads have voiced reservations about the project, however, citing the potential for the city to incur high maintenance and upkeep costs.
